We had an enjoyable second week at the MTC. We learned a lot about some new teaching methods. They are great! We are even more excited (and worried to do it right) about teaching the young adults.
We met Ken Porter who we haven't seen in over 30 years. He was there from church security to talk to us about being safe. He is the husband of my cousin Tawnie Passey Porter.
We have met some wonderful missionaries while we were here. One couple is on their 7th mission! They recounted to us the tremendous blessings that have come to their family members when they are on their missions. And problems (medical in their families) come back when they are home. They sold their home about 14 years ago and are only home for 5 to 10 months between missions. Their names are Elder and Sister Merrill.
When we left Provo, it was raining and snowing in the mountains. It snowed for 1.5 hours or so once we entered the Spanish Fork Canyon. Then rained on and off through out the rest of the day.
This morning we left early to beat the next snow storm in the Rockies West of Denver. We were fortunate that the roads were fairly clear. Only about 15 miles of snow pack or slush. Not a big problem. The car however was horribly dirty and took three cleanings to mostly get it clean.
Tomorrow we meet with Sheryl's girl friend from HS, my brother, and then a few days with our daughter and family.
